You can join or renew your 2012 club dues either online at our Online Membership Page , or by submitting your application with a check and putting in our box at Granite Falls pro shop . New this year, you will only be able to join our club online on our website, then we will enter the data for your AGA membership. You will no longer be able to join or renew in our club online at the AGA website. If you need further assistance please contact me.

Hello I am Mike Domino, and I am the Membership Director.
 

 Welcome to all the new members of the Sun City Grand Men’s 18 Hole Golf Club. 

We exist to afford all residents the opportunity to test their skills, meet new friends, compete in organized events, and share the knowledge of the game. We play on Wednesdays, year round, except for October. Starting in November, we have both a morning shotgun and a tee time tournament each Wednesday. As a member of the Arizona Golf Association, our tournaments are played under USGA rules, thus affording everyone the opportunity to complete equally and perhaps win prizes. However the main objective is to have fun.

 
Application Process

The application process is normally completed within a week, allowing you to sign up for tournaments. The membership fee covers both the Arizona Golf Association’s (AGA) Handicap fees ($25 before Dec 15 and $35 after Dec 15) and our club fees($20). Membership in the AGA is mandatory, and is no longer optional. If you are already a member of the AGA for 2012, then you can supply your AGA No. on your paper application form, with a check and pay only the our club fee of $20. 

Starting October 15th, you may join or renew online at our Online Membership Page, or by submitting your renewal/application form (instructions on form) with a check in our box inside the Granite Falls pro shop.  To receive the discount offered by the AGA you will have to renew before Dec 15th to pay only $45, after Dec 15th you will have to pay the regular rate of $55 for full membership.  

Starting October 15th 2012 you will be able to join or renew online on our own website. and we will take care of your AGA membership. The AGA will no longer accept your membership directly, it will have to be processed by our club. 

We will enter your membership information into the AGA as well as our handicap and tournament software, in addition this information is entered into the signup web portal. When you join our club you will need to submit your CAM number residence information and submit any verifiable handicap information to start with a established handicap index. Please read the section on Handicaps below. You will be notified by email (providing you put a valid email address) with your username and password to use our online signup web portal to play in our tournaments.To check the status of your application contact me Mike.Domino@scgmgc.org, other club contact information is under the Contact Us Menu above, and is also posted on the Bulletin Board at the Granite Falls Golf course). 

Establish Handicap

Once you complete the application process you will have to establish a Men’s Club handicap to be eligible to play for prizes in our tournaments. By a vote of its members, it was decided that we would only use verifiable Wednesday Men’s Club scores to determine club handicaps. You can establish your Club handicap in the following ways:

 
  • If you have an current existing United States Golf Association (USGA) handicap index, we will use that index to start your Wednesday Club handicap. It will be your playing index on Wednesdays until you play 3 times on Wednesday and establish a Club Handicap Index. To accept a USGA handicap index, the handicap director must verify your index and scoring history. Please fill out the Handicap Verification Form, attach your most current scores, and put them in the Mens Club box located in the Granite Falls Pro Shop, after the handicap director reviews them he will issue you a club index to use until you play 3 times in our club. 
 
  • If you do not have an existing handicap index, you will be allowed to play for score only on Wednesdays (provided there is room) in order to establish a Club handicap. You will be able to play for score only and not for any prize money until you have 3 Wednesday scores and a Club Handicap Index.
 The Club is responsible for verifying and posting your Wednesday Club scores to maintain our club handicap. If you are a AGA member you are responsible for posting all of your Wednesday scores (enter all properly adjusted ESC scores) into the AGA computers located in the various pro shops or by recording it online from your home computer. The AGA will issue you a Trend Handicap Index after you have posted 5 adjusted scores before the 1st or 15th of the month. We will accept a trend AGA index as your club handicap until you play 3 times on Wednesday and establish a Club Handicap. Tournament Rules:

Tournament sign up is done online only!  After your membership is processed your application data is entered into our club sign up portal, there are links and instructions how to signup on our homepage including a link to the signup website from our homepage. After your application is processed I will send you a email with your login name and password.to gain access to sign up or cancel out of our tournaments, Tournament signup is available two weeks (Wed nite 2 wks prior) prior to the tournament, please sign up by the Thursday prior to the tournament, because we have to give the holes back that we do not have members signed up the Thursday prior to the tournament. A link to the pairings are available on our homepage by Monday evening for the following week’s Tournaments (3 days in advance). If you sign up and have to cancel, you can cancel on line until Saturday noon the program will remove you from the tournament, after which you may be fined . The website will generate a a standby list after the maximum players allowed to sign up is reached we will use the list in the order of signup to replace individuals who had to cancel. In addition more spots will open Saturday noon, and they will be filled with the standbys in the order of signup you will have until Monday noon to signup, but you will not be available to cancel online, and may not be listed on the posted pairings sheet you will be notified by email that you are signed up to play. You may sign up for either AM Shotgun Tournament or the tee time start tournament, not Both or you will be fined! Be sure you sign up on the correct tournament for the course and time you want to play.

Check-In 

If you sign up for a tournament and are put on the Roster to play, you must check in at the tournament table and pay a $5 entry fee, at least  30 minutes before the starting time. If you do not show up or are late, you can be scratched from the tournament and will be fined $5 for a single man events and $10 for a team event and you will not be able to play until your fines are paid. Walk-on's the morning of the tournament are normally not accepted. 

Pairings 

Please check the Bulletin Board or Club Website http:\\scgmgc.org for pairing information on Hole and Course assignments. Hole assignments will be posted by Monday the week of the tournament on our website.  

 Winnings

Any Men’s Club tournament winnings will be put into an account under the individual’s name and CAM number and can be used in any of the pro shops. You are encouraged to use this credit to purchase merchandise, but may use this credit to pay for guest golf fees, merchandise, and to purchase range balls. You can use any portion of the account to make purchases. The balance will always be as a credit with no expiration date. The Weekly Winners are posted on the Granite Falls Bulletin Board and our Treasurers webpage.
